One morning, a neighbor walked through our doors carrying everything they owned in a backpack. After months of sleeping in different places, moving from couch to shelter to the street and back again, exhaustion had settled deep into their spirit. Life had become survival. Constant movement. Constant uncertainty. Constant reminders that they were unseen.
They came to Connecting Point for breakfast.
At first, it was just a meal and a place to sit for a little while. But over time, something else began to happen. People remembered their name. Someone asked how they were doing and truly waited for the answer. Neighbors sat beside them instead of across from them. They were offered prayer. They were invited to take a hot shower, wash their clothes, and simply breathe for a moment without feeling rushed away.
What may seem small to many people, a warm breakfast, clean clothes, a conversation over coffee, became a sacred kind of rest.
For a few hours each week, they didn’t feel invisible.
They felt human again.
That’s the heart behind Connecting Point.
Not just meeting practical needs, but creating a space where people experience dignity, belonging, and the love of Christ through consistent care and community.
Every week, neighbors gather around tables for hot meals and conversation. Families shop our pantry with dignity. Laundry machines run constantly. Showers restore confidence. Volunteers learn names, hear stories, and build trust through consistent presence. This work happens because people choose to give faithfully.
